Job Title:

Cybersecurity Specialist – On-Site (Toronto, ON)

About the Role:

We're hiring a skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to support a high-visibility initiative with a major financial institution in downtown Toronto. You'll play a hands-on role in protecting enterprise infrastructure, conducting threat assessments, and responding to incidents in real time.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor networks, systems, and applications for security threats or unauthorized access
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement security controls
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, coordinating mitigation efforts
• Support the configuration and management of firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM, and IDS/IPS tools
• Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to ensure security best practices
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance regulations
• Contribute to risk assessments, policy updates, and internal audits

• 5–8 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or network security
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and SIEM platforms
• Experience with incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management
• Familiarity with frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS
• Hands-on experience in enterprise Windows and/or Linux environments
• Relevant certifications a plus (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+)

Nice to Have:

• Experience working in financial services or highly regulated industries
• Exposure to cloud security (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
