POSITION SUMMARY:

The Language Centre Manager assumes overall responsibility for daily program operations,management of human resources, achievement of contractual outcomes, and implementation ofall relevant policies, systems, and procedures for English Language Services as specified in the program delivery agreement. This position oversees instructional delivery and staff, and is part of the MOSAIC Language Leaders Team.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure a high standard of occupational health and safety
  • Ensure compliance with language policy and commitment to client-centered service
  • Meet the stated goals and contractual outcomes of the program
  • Take a leadership role in the development and implementation of systems, procedures, andstandards, and work to maintain and improve them
  • Oversee the operational management of the facilities
  • Create and maintain systems that reinforce a team approach to service provision
  • Communicate the stated goals and outcomes to Language Centre staff and promote thevision of service excellence and continuous improvement
  • Promote the Language Centres functioning as a synchronized unit, with clear
    communication and coordination between instructional and administrative support teams
  • Work on the preparation of all program proposals for English language training needs(both existing and new initiatives)
  • Contribute to the development of new programs and services
  • Develop community and marketing strategies to inform and attract potential students
  • Work with the Program Management Team and the relevant agencys accountingdepartments to ensure the financial integrity and accountability of the program
  • Assist, where necessary, in the preparation of budgets, and reviews cash flows andvariance reports
  • Hire/retain, train, supervise, and evaluate staff
  • Ensure completion of performance evaluations and review and update of job descriptions for staff annually
  • Develop and support staff to reach their potential
  • Ensure implementation of MOSAICs policies and procedures


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant field (e.g., Educational
    Administration, Community Studies, or Business) or a combination of training and experience related to delivering language services
  • Three to five years of recent related experience in delivering government-funded programs, including writing and coordinating funding proposals, developing and monitoring budgets, managing human resources and community partnerships.
  • Valid and Satisfactory Criminal Record Check Required - Vulnerable Sector Check required

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing; other languages an asset

HOURS:

full-time position (35 hours per week). Fixed-term contract until July 27, 2026. Due to centre hours of operation, this position may need to work morning, afternoon, or evening shifts as needed.

The successful candidate must be able to commute to our Burnaby Language Centre location 454 & 480 4800 KingswayBurnaby.

COMPENSATION: $69,360.20 - $71,716.84 annual salary

BENEFITS:

A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
