Summary

We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Terminal Service Technician to join our team at Q-Line Trucking. This role is ideal for a jack-of-all-trades professional who takes initiative, identifies what needs to be done, and gets it done without being told. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of support functions, including asset tracking, light equipment maintenance, facility upkeep, and operating heavy yard equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset Management:
  • Track and monitor trailers, yard equipment, and support assets.
  • Maintain accurate logs and ensure assets are properly positioned and documented.
  • Facility & Equipment Maintenance:
  • Perform basic facility repairs (e.g., fixing a plugged toilet, replacing light bulbs).
  • Conduct minor maintenance on small equipment such as lawn mowers, hand tools, etc.
  • Identify maintenance issues and take initiative to address or report them promptly.
  • Heavy Equipment Operation:
  • Operate large snow removal and yard maintenance equipment, including front-end loaders and graders.
  • Clear snow, move materials, and maintain a safe and organized yard environment.
  • General Support:
  • Assist terminal staff with ad hoc tasks to ensure smooth terminal operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and facilities.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance or support needs as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Prior experience in a support, maintenance, or logistics yard environment preferred.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as loaders and graders (certification or verifiable experience required).
  • Basic mechanical skills for small equipment and facility repairs.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid drivers license (1A a plus but not required).

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor yard and indoor facility environments; exposure to varying weather.
  • Hands-on, physical tasks combined with light administrative tracking duties.
