Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the establishment of a Project Management Office (PMO) from the ground up while simultaneously managing critical projects. This role requires a balance of strategic vision, process design, stakeholder management, and hands-on project execution. This position reports directly to the VP of Operations and plays a critical role in shaping project execution culture and driving strategic alignment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

PMO Setup and Governance:

  • Design and implement the structure, framework, and processes for a scalable PMO aligned with business strategy.
  • Develop project governance models, templates, standards, and tools.
  • Define and track KPIs and success metrics for PMO and project delivery.
  • Establish project intake, prioritization, and resource allocation processes.
  • Conduct PM maturity assessments and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to internal stakeholders.
  • Evaluate current project practices and identify gaps to inform the PMO design.
  • Lead organizational change management to ensure successful PMO adoption.

Project Management & Delivery:

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of strategic projects across departments.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across project lifecycles.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and communication at all levels of the organization.
  • Manage relations with external vendors.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget.
  • Facilitate project steering committees and executive updates.
  • Promote project management best practices and foster a culture of accountability and transparency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering or related field
  • PMP certification is required
  • 7–10 years of experience in project management, including 2+ years in setting up or leading a PMO.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional and complex projects.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with PM tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Asana, Monday.com).
  • Change management experience is a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
