CI is part of CI Financial, a diverse group of financial services firms.OverviewThe Internal Audit Co-op student will assist in the performance of audit procedures over Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) to assess design and operating effectiveness of the controls in support of the CEO CFO Certification. Furthermore, the role will assist in the execution of operational audits across key areas for CI Financial. This is a hands-on role that will require knowledge of complex business processes, and a range of risks related to business processes and technology. What You Will Do
- Attend walkthrough, and perform audit procedures including documenting the testing results, completing audit programs, sample testing, reviewing, and analyzing evidence, providing information to support conclusions, and identifying and defining issues and root causes.
- Evaluate the implications of internal control deficiencies identified and develop recommendations for deficiencies closure.
- Support the production of the quarterly management sub-certification, aggregation of results and reporting.
- Assist in drafting and presenting the audit report to Internal Audit Management, the Auditee and Management for validation and review.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by senior staff.
- Actively contribute to positive team environment and support new initiatives.
- Work as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks.
- Actively support new initiatives.
- Enrolled in a university-level program with a focus in accounting (preference 3rd or 4th year student)
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills
- Detail Oriented
- Demonstrate time management and multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential issues.
- Advanced computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
