Part-Time Human Resources Generalist

The permanent part-time Human Resources Generalist position initially has varying hours each week, 3-5 days in the office. This position will move to a permanent full-time position depending on production needs. Reporting to the Financial Controller and the President, this role is key in supporting Metalumen's strategy for future growth, while working to improve the efficiency in operations, ensuring all HR functions are effectively administered including and health & safety in the workplace, and full cycle recruiting.

Main Duties

  • Review and process payroll, act as contact for employee queries
  • Work with managers labour planning, understanding of attrition and contingency planning
  • Full cycle recruitment, terminations, participate in legal enquiries
  • Communicate and coordinate with staffing agencies for temporary employees
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws, including ESA, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Common Law
  • Participating as a member of the JHSC and coordinating H&S programs and initiatives
  • Coordinate WSIB claims and early return to work programs
  • Review and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Administrate benefit plan
  • Act as point of contact for governmental program and funding applications
  • Trainor of all mandatory requirements, tracking electronically
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimal 3 years' experience working as a Human Resources Professional in Manufacturing
  • Advanced understanding and working knowledge of employment and workplace legislation
  • Experience in HRIS and payroll programs, ADP considered and asset
  • Advanced interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills
  • Experienced managerial skills
  • Leadership, mentoring and coaching
