Lead Hand Final Assembler

We are looking for a Lead Hand in the Final Assembly department. A successful candidate is strong at managing people and a daily varying workload, has strong attention to detail and understands that quality is the primary way to meet the demands of our customers. This position allows the unique blend of formal training and hands-on experience. Practical skills are needed to participate in developing new and exciting manufacturing solutions.

About the position

Main Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Organize and execute daily production schedule in the Final Assembly department.
  • Understand, coach, and train employees to build luminaires as per Engineering and Approval drawings.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements and communicate with Production, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
  • Perform quality checks and first-offs in Final Assembly, Paint Line, and product assembled in other departments.
  • Review documentation and MES claiming to adhere to customer's specifications and Metalumen standards.
  • Coordinate with stockroom to accurately identify material requirements for the scheduled jobs.
  • Work towards building a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Build luminaires according to mechanical and electrical wiring diagrams (on-site training).
  • Label and identify assembled components according to customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous lead hand or supervisory position,
  • Strong communication and leadership strengths, able to work well with all staff
  • Flexibility, willingness to learn
  • Ability to read drawings (on-site training)
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent attendance
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
