POSITION SUMMARY
Our client is a well-established, family-owned manufacturer specializing in high-quality metal products. As the Procurement and Materials Planning Manager, you will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and lead the Purchasing team to ensure operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and supply chain optimization. Offering a rewarding career in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the Purchasing Department, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain Standard and Department Operating Procedures.
  • Source, research, negotiate, and procure supplies while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Manage freight and traffic activities to optimize logistics.
  • Ensure on-time delivery by overseeing scheduling and supply chain coordination.
  • Maintain MRO/RM programs to support production requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assess raw material needs and address supply chain challenges.
  • Occasional travel to the US facility.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Materials Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership/management experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
  • Experience in sourcing and procurement in the manufacturing industry, including knowledge of global suppliers, country origins, trade regulations, and geopolitical factors affecting metal sourcing.
  • Solid understanding of international freight, logistics, and supply chain strategies to optimize cost and delivery efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Continuous Improvement and LEAN principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and MRP software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.

POSITION DETAILS
  • Located in Bruce County, ON, this is a permanent, full-time position, based on-site and in person.
  • Office hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • This role requires travel to the United States, and a valid driver's license and passport are required.
