Were looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Second Cook to join our dynamic culinary team at one of Vancouvers premier private clubs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for quality food, teamwork, and a desire to grow in a fast-paced, professional kitchen.

The Second Cook supports the First Cook and Chef de Partie with day-to-day kitchen operations. Youll help prepare and cook a variety of dishes, assist with kitchen organization, and ensure high standards for food quality, presentation, and cleanliness are consistently met - all to delight our members and guests!

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of menu items using proper techniques (grilling, sauting, frying, etc.)
• Ensure ingredients are prepped and ready for service (mise en place)
• Follow portion control, plating standards, and food safety protocols
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
• Support inventory rotation, receiving deliveries, and minimizing waste
• Communicate effectively with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation
• Adapt to changing needs in the kitchen and support where needed during busy service periods

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of culinary experience in a professional/corporate kitchen
• Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and kitchen stations
• Excellent organizational skills & ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards
• Food safety and sanitation certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Team player with excellent communication and leadership skills
• Passion for cooking and continuous learning

WORK HOURS

• Open availability including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Typical shifts will include working both Saturdays & Sundays. Weekday shifts may either be mornings, afternoons or evenings based on business needs
  

WAGE: $25.29 per hour + bonus eligibility
