OVERVIEW:
The DC Warehouse Associate co-ordinates sales order shipments and purchase order receipts within the ERP system. This position will work closely with the warehouse manager to coordinate picking, packing, inventory counts. This position will report to the Warehouse Manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:
• Receives, picks, and ships frozen and dry goods
• Must be able to pick accurately and consistently
• Manually stacking product onto pallets, wrapping, and preparing product for shipment
• Develop a good working knowledge of product, placement, and inventory control processes and procedures
• Reads labels and/or printing on product containers and associated documents
• Counts and calculates quantity of product to verify accuracy of shipment
• Must be able to work in all temperature controlled selecting environments, from frozen to ambient
• Break down product boxes
• Operates within safety procedures at all times
• Maintains a clean work environment at all times
• Comply with all applicable health and safety codes
• Forklift (Reach), Order picker, and pallet jack experience desired
• Completes any other functions that may be assigned as needed
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Must be 18+ years of age
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays
• Teamwork, self-motivated, problem-solving, and initiative to support the needs of a fast-paced environment
• Good attendance and adherence to the work schedule
• Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced environment for an extended period of time
• Forklift/MHE certifications preferred
• Previous warehouse experience handling food desired
• Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices preferred
• Familiar with RF guns, WMS (SAP preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Lift and move items up to 50 pounds
• Stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours
• Regularly bend, lift, stretch and reach both below the waist and above the head
• Have the personal strength and stamina to walk briskly for most of the day throughout the facility
• Work in a cold environment with temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Celsius (Freezer)
