The HVAC Technician position focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role is suited for professionals with hands-on experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work efficiently in residential or commercial environments. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and able to handle service calls independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and related components
- Perform routine maintenance on heating and cooling systems
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using testing equipment
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Ensure systems comply with safety standards and building codes
- Communicate clearly with customers and document all service work
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of hands-on HVAC experience
- Valid HVAC license or certification (as per provincial regulations)
- Familiarity with residential and/or commercial systems
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Physically fit and able to work in tight spaces, on ladders, and in various weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Gas technician license (G2 or higher)
- Experience with ductwork, rooftop units, or split systems
- EPA or ODP certification (if applicable)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
