The Control Panel Designer willwork usingcomputer aided design (CADD) software to createdetailed and complexdiagrams and models of electrical systemsalong with associated documentation (Bill of Materials, work scope, etc.), and to revise existing drawings as necessary in accordance with client standards.TheDesignerwill also be responsible forproviding technical support to theteamsand will be expected tomaintain proper communication withthe client and withteam members.

What will you do as a Control Panel Designer?

  • Creating diagrams of complex electrical systems
  • Work with engineering personnel to createdrawings for the engineering design package for projects, including single lines, schematics, layouts, bill of materials and installation drawings. This may come from written or verbal instructions.
  • performcalculations and associateddetailed design drafting of plant layouts (power, grounding, lighting, lightning, electric heat tracing and equipment layouts) and associated single lines, three-lines & schematics/wiring diagrams.
  • Create 3D models and the extraction of data from 3D models
  • Perform drafting of field mark-ups for record drawings.
  • Managing drafting standards, templates and cells.
  • Create and store documents electronically.
  • Liaise with customers and team members for regular communication and feedback on work progress.
  • Make site visits as required.
  • Train and provide technical support todrafting team members.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Assist with project preparation and close-out
  • Help with the preparation of projects.
  • Support team members in filling out project paperwork
  • Any other duties as assigned
  • Report directly to the Department Manager

Do you have the Spark?

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Intermediate level minimum of 6+ years' design experience in Industrial Electrical Design
  • Junior level less than 6 years of experience design in Industrial Electrical Design
  • Proficient with drafting/drawing software including but not limited to Eplan, AutoCAD.
  • Experience modelling 2D and 3D within AutoCAD or other industry accepted 3D modelling software an asset
