Job Title: Project Manager

Reporting to the Director, Engineering, the Project Manager will drive the scoping, engineering, design, and handover to construction of significant project components in both the Process Plant and Infrastructure areas. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role on the Eskay Creek Project, shaping and delivering specific projects within the Construction & Engineering group.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Consultant and Contractor Management

  • Selects, directs, and manages consultants, ensuring project requirements and best value objectives are met.
  • Supports the Skeena Supply Chain team in the bidding, evaluation, selection, award, and administration of consultants and contractors.

  • Holds accountability for consultant scope, quality, cost, and schedule

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure designs are safe, fit for purpose, constructable, and cost efficient.
  • Has a strong multi-disciplinary working knowledge, recognizing when to involve internal stakeholders or additional external resources.

Regulatory and Environmental Compliance

  • Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborates with environmental teams to ensure designs meet environmental regulations and best practices, minimizing the project's impact on the surrounding ecosystem.

Other Duties

  • Perform other relevant project management duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Education / Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Preference for Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registration (or eligibility) in the province of British Columbia.
Experience / Skills
  • A minimum of 8 years of directly related project management experience, within a minimum of 15 years demonstrated experience in project execution environments.
  • Experience in the mining industry, and preferably in new build mine construction.

  • Detail oriented with excessive attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters
  • Effective team player who can jump in wherever is needed
  • Strong interpersonal and reasoning skills, with proven problem-solving abilities
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as with others
Work Location & Conditions

This role will be based in the Vancouver Corporate office, but will require occasional trips (approximately quarterly) to the Eskay Creek site. As the project advances into construction, site visits will increase in frequency/duration, up to approximately 25% of time spent at site).

This job requires the incumbent to be able to work away from home and to be able to travel to different work locations or events outside of regular office hours as well as traveling to Skeena's remote project sites and collaborate with internal and external parties.

Compensation The expected salary range for this position is CA$140,000 - CA$200,000, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
