We're looking for experienced and motivated Sous Chefs to join our team at our beloved Greek restaurant in the heart of Cochrane Alberta. Join us in creating vibrant dishes in an engaging family-style atmosphere!
As a Sous Chef, you'll work directly with our Head Chef, as well as work independently when needed, to ensure smooth kitchen operations, uphold the highest standards of quality and consistency, and bring authentic Greek and Mediterranean dishes to life for every guest who walks through our doors. We have big ambitions for expanding our operations and are looking for people who would be excited to help us create and explore new ways to delight our customers, as well as grow their careers with us.
What You'll Do:
- Assist in kitchen operations including: prep, cooking, plating, and quality control
- Bring energy for finding optimizations and sharing best practices in a team environment
- Collaborate on seasonal menu development and specials
- Manage the kitchen independently should the head chef be unavailable
- Help manage inventory and ordering
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen that meets health & safety standards
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of cooking experience, ideally at a full service restaurant
- Ideally able to independently manage the kitchen should the head chef be unavailable
- Culinary diploma or formal training is a plus but not required
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 25 pounds regularly and ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Understanding of Greek/Mediterranean cuisine is a plus
