We are a social trading interface that lets thousands of users long, short, copy- or counter-trade perpetual futures together on the high-throughput Hyperliquid L1 order-book DEX.
We combine real-time market data, social leaderboards and a playful points system to turn trading into a team sport. The platform routinely handles sub-second position updates and billions of dollars of volume every month.
Why this role matters
On mobile, every dropped frame or delayed WebSocket packet is a missed fill. React Native can deliver a native-feeling 60 FPS experience when tuned correctly —but only if we keep latency low through persistent, bi-directional connections. WebSockets are key to that low-latency, real-time flow, and new performance techniques emerging in 2025 let us push React Native even faster. You will own the mobile layer that makes hyper-responsive trading (and clan trash-talk) possible from a phone.
What you'll do
Build & optimize React Native screens that stream order-book deltas, PnL and clan leaderboards over WebSockets with sub-100 ms budgets.
Implement a robust real-time data layer (TypeScript, Redux Toolkit Query or equivalent) with offline caching and graceful reconnection logic.
Bridge native modules when performance demands it, including exposing SwiftUI or UIKit components to React Native on iOS.
Work closely with backend engineers to define gRPC/JSON payloads and back-pressure strategies that keep mobile sockets thin but dependable.
Ship monitored code—instrument Sentry and REACT-Native-perf metrics, surface KPIs in Grafana, and own on-call rotations for the mobile stack.
Collaborate with design to finesse micro-interactions that make the app feel native on both iOS and Android.
What you'll bring
4 + years crafting production React Native apps in TypeScript, including experience hitting 60 FPS on complex list and chart views.
Deep understanding of WebSocket / SSE performance tuning on mobile (heart-beats, batching, incremental JSON, back-pressure).
Familiarity with native iOS or Android bridges and willingness to dip into Swift / SwiftUI or Kotlin when a pure-JS solution isn't fast enough.
Comfort profiling CPU, memory and JS-thread contention with Flipper, Xcode Instruments or Android Studio.
A bias toward shipping measurable improvements every week and iterating with Telegram-first feedback loops.
Bonus points
Prior work on trading, gaming or other ultra-low-latency apps.
Experience integrating hardware secure-enclave key custody or wallet libraries.
Contributions to React Native performance libraries or open-source WebSocket tooling.
