Salary: $25 to $34/h (DOE) + 100% employer-paid Extended Health & Dental benefits package + LTD Plan + Life Insurance + 5% RRSP employer contribution + phone allowance.

Reporting to the Senior Pre-Fabrication Manager, the Shop Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support to the PMP Fabrication Facility by managing receiving documentation, placing material orders, preparing shop orders, and supporting safety programs.

Specifically, the Shop Administrator will

  • Manage and file all incoming and outgoing paperwork related to deliveries, including receiving reports, mill test reports and packing slips.
  • Place material orders based on requests from the Fabrication and Project Management teams.
  • Create and maintain fabrication shop orders and corresponding documentation packages.
  • Participate as an active member of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety (JOHS) Committee.
  • Maintain administrative tracking systems, including attendance, logistics, material tracking and internal communication records.
  • Draft internal correspondence, meeting minutes, memos, safety notices, and documentation as required.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings, safety training sessions, and walkthroughs as directed by the Fabrication Team.
  • Work closely with Fabrication Manager, Fabrication Coordinator, Lead hands, and other team members to ensure smooth documentation flow and process support.
  • Support ongoing safety compliance and documentation efforts within the shop.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills

  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based file management platforms (e.g., Dropbox)
  • Familiarity with construction or fabrication documentation processes
  • Reliable, professional, and proactive
  • Comfortable participating in safety-related initiatives
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an administrative role
  • Experience in a construction or fabrication environment preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in material management and maintaining documentation workflows
  • Understanding of shop operations and safety documentation
  • Previous experience as an Administrative Coordinator or Manager
  • Experience participating in or supporting safety committees (e.g., JOHS) is an asset

Work Conditions

  • This is a full-time and office-based position.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use a desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
  • PMP employees work a standard 40-hour work week, but hours of work may vary based on business requirements.
