Hypercharge Networks Corp. is a leading, smart electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider and network operator that is strategically poised to take advantage of the rapidly growing EV charging market.

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our team as a key member to help drive rapid growth.

The ideal candidate is an experienced CPA, who understands fast-paced start-ups, and is ready to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. You have a track record of rapid learning; you are driven by winning; and you are able to successfully execute on the highest value activities.

Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the day-to-day accounting, compliance, audit, and reporting functions while working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong accounting leader with several years of hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting who thrives in high-growth organization, and wants to play a key role in building an efficient finance function at a publicly traded clean-tech company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and cost accounting.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close process ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support public company reporting requirements including MD&A and regulatory filings.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits and reviews with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and financial obligations in both Canada and the US.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure a strong financial governance framework.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives alongside FP&A.
  • Work closely with operations, project teams, and HR to ensure proper cost tracking and payroll accuracy.
  • SEDAR+ filings and TSX.V/OTC compliance
  • Assist with implementation and optimization of accounting systems and reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Senior Accountant or Controller capacity.
  • Experience in a public company environment and familiarity with IFRS an asset.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian tax, compliance and payroll.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting systems and other platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Salesforce and Excel).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scale-up environment with hands-on responsibilities.
