Are you an organized, community-minded individual with strong communication skills? Westerner Park is looking for two (2) dedicated volunteers to join our Casino Committee. This is a unique opportunity to play a key behind-the-scenes role in our AGLC Casino Fundraiser, held during the annual Westerner Days event.
About the Role:
Casino Committee members are responsible for organizing and supporting two AGLC-licensed casino fundraisers held each July during Westerner Days, one at Cash Casino and one at Red Deer Resort & Casino. These events are vital to funding Westerner Park's programs and community initiatives and offer a meaningful way to contribute to the success of our organization.
As a Casino Committee member, you'll:

• Attend planning meetings and provide input on improving event logistics and volunteer experience
• Coordinate volunteer staffing for both casino locations, ensuring all required roles are filled
• Act as the key liaison between Westerner Park, AGLC representatives, the casino venues, and the partnering charity group
• Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and roles for AGLC reporting requirements
• Collaborate with the Westerner Park team to ensure compliance with AGLC policies and procedures
• Assist with on-site coordination during casino events to ensure smooth operations
• Participate in post-event wrap-up, including collecting feedback and assisting with reporting or reconciliation
• Promote the fundraiser and help increase awareness of volunteer opportunities through community outreach

Ideal Skills & Qualities:

• Must be at least 18 years old (Volunteers must be 18+ to participate in AGLC casino shifts and related processes)
• Must be available during Westerner Days each year (July 16-25, 2025)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Friendly, reliable, and a team player
• Comfortable working with emails, spreadsheets, and forms
• Connected in the community or eager to build relationships with local nonprofits
• Interested in a meaningful, long-term volunteer opportunity
