Job Description

The Corporate Energy Consultant is responsible for all matters related to energy management and conservation for Osler's sites: Etobicoke General Hospital, Brampton Civic Hospital, Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness, Etobicoke Wellness Centre and the Withdrawal Management Centre. Reporting to the AVP, Facilities Operations, this position is accountable for developing and managing energy efficiency projects and for driving energy conservation practices for Osler including the identification, analysis, development, implementation and reporting of energy saving opportunities. The Corporate Energy Consultant in close collaboration with the Corporate Manager, Energy, will develop and support Osler's sustainability goals. The Corporate Energy Consultant participates in hospital wide management activities as they pertain to energy initiatives.

Accountabilities:

  • Identify, access, prioritize and recommend energy saving opportunities
  • Lead, coordinate and develop plans to implement various energy conservation programs at Osler including low-cost/no-cost operational, maintenance optimization and end-user behavioral programs
  • Develop an energy tracking and monitoring system with variable regression utilizing the existing hospital/process metering system
  • Develop and deliver training to technical staff on utilizing the system to reduce hospital energy consumption and optimize utility cost
  • Meet with internal technical staff to review monthly consumption and identify areas of improvement if required
  • Coordinate and provide guidance on the incentive applications process with local utility providers and national incentive organizations
  • Work with peak hours and demand management plan with hydro and Osler team to conserve energy and cost of utility
  • Lead and coordinate the business case development, planning and implementation of energy-saving capital projects and non-capital programs
  • Work with service providers to evaluate energy and sustainability projects
  • Work with contractors and hospital resources to achieve safe, efficient, on-time and on-budget project and program delivery
  • Chair volunteer based greening committee on each site
  • Manage and build Osler's EV charging network across the portfolio
  • Represent Osler in various external “greening” associations
  • Support Osler when applying for awards or sustainable recognition, such as the “Top 100 Greenest Employer”
  • Review and analyze monthly and annual energy reports to ensure compliance with the project agreement
  • Ensure that all annual regulatory utility reporting is completed and compliant
  • Develop and manage ECDM plan for Osler
  • Represent Osler in various energy and utilities management subcommittees meetings with service providers at each of Osler's sites
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Certified Energy Consultant designation
  • Certified Measurement and Verification Professional preferred
  • Project Management Professional or related training preferred
  • Three years of relevant engineering or energy management experience
  • Familiarity with incentive programs (IESO/Toronto Hydro, Enbridge Gas, NRCan)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and MS Project

Additional Information

Hours: Hybrid role (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary:
Minimum: $52.06
Maximum: $65.07
