Location: Soraya Hafez YMCA Out of School Care (980 McConachie Blvd NW, Edmonton, AB T5Z 0J1)

Hours of Operations: 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, closed on Statutory Holidays

• School Year Shifts: 6:45am-8:45am & 3 pm-6pm (Thursdays 2 pm-6pm)
• Non School Day Shifts: Varied Shifts between 7am to 6pm; more hours available during summer months.

Responsibilities:

• Consistently represent YMCA's values and mission, comply with all YMCA Policies, procedures and Provincial Licensing regulations
• Work and communicate with a team to implement Child Care curriculum which may include Playing to Learn, FLIGHT and A Place to Connect.
• Guide and redirect children in situations when conflicts arise using a variety of positive child guidance techniques
• Ensure children are accounted for at all times
• Treat all families respectfully, bearing in mind their values, culture and background
• Build relationships with families and communicate, verbally and in writing on a daily basis
• Commitment to Health and Safety and Child Protection Policies and Procedures
• Attend all required professional development and training opportunities
• Consistently provide a safe and clean environment following all cleaning procedures
• Complete required administrative tasks
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children
• Level 1or 2 Child Care Certification (or in progress)
• Standard or Child Care First Aid & CPR – C
• Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
