Job Summary
This position description applies to the Shipper/Receiver and RMA Shipper/Receiver roles. Summaries of these roles and the associated responsibilities are broken down below.
For all roles, priorities may, at times, be set by the Logistics and Material Handling Manager; this includes but is not limited to picking orders, packing, invoicing, shipping, receiving and cycle counting.
Work Location: Monday to Friday Onsite
City: Surrey
Type: full-time, Permanent
Salary: $18.00 - $19.20 per hour
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
Shipper:
Package and prepare product for customer shipments daily. Daily scope of work will be based on sales orders and customer demand.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and fill orders based on completed sales orders.
- Prepare all necessary documentation required for freight movement – waybill, customs documents.
- Pick orders from finished goods.
- Pack picked sales orders in a suitable manner.
- Create invoices / packing slips for deliveries.
- Create address label information.
- Ensure finished goods inventory is correct and accounted for.
- Load and unload product using a forklift.
Receiver:
Receive all inbound shipments on a daily basis. Daily scope of work will be based on the number of purchase orders confirmed for delivery that day along with indirect goods to support other internal departments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare receiving dock to accept incoming product.
- Process received product according to company policies and place into inventory; inspect, verify, unpack, sort and keep records of incoming shipments.
- Match incoming product with purchase orders.
- Check incoming product for damage and initiate freight claims if necessary.
- Create proper labels for incoming items and ensure they are placed correctly.
- Ensure materials in the warehouse and other inventory locations are correct in quantity and match the quantities in MRP (Great Plains).
Shipper / Receiver:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records using a computerized record-keeping system.
- Lift/carry product according to documented procedures while ensuring safe work practices and protection of materials from damage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
RMA Shipper / Receiver:
Aids the Administrative Support and Service Technicians in servicing Delta Intelligent Building Technologies (Canada) Inc. products (requiring repairs, upgrades, or credit) that have been returned from Partners, end-users, or other Delta Intelligent Building Technologies (Canada) Inc. Departments. This includes but is not restricted to documenting information about the returned product and its servicing by creating service reports and inventory control.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary
- Receive incoming shipments.
- Unpack shipments and enter information into a database.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipments (via phone, fax or email).
- Prepare repaired materials for shipment.
- Generate Proforma Customs paperwork.
- Coordinate shipments with Production.
- Call for package pick up and filing shipping documents.
- Identify and assess problems with returned products related to shipping and receiving.
- Document service provided in the RMA database.
- Identify recurring service issues to initiate Corrective Actions.
- Conduct verification of paperwork and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain supplies.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Secondary
- Restock parts bins.
- Program and stock Eproms and PLD devices.

Required or Strongly Preferred Skills and Abilities

- Able to communicate clearly with co-workers, customers, and suppliers verbally and through email.
- Must be able to establish priorities, handle multiple ongoing tasks without direct supervision.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs on a daily, recurring basis.
Key Attributes
- Preferably a Certified forklift operator; dependent on the number of personnel.
- Preferably 1 – 3 years' previous experience in a position such as Shipping/Receiving, Material Handling, Warehouse material movement, or equivalent experience and education.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED would be preferred.
