Beacon Lite is one of the top providers of traffic control equipment and services. We are a fast-paced, growing business, with over 60 years of traffic control experience. Locally, we have operations in Ottawa, Gatineau, Kingston, and Sudbury with over 250 employees between our 4 locations and we are excited to be expanding our operations to service the GTA.

Please note: this position will be home based initially as there is currently no physical office to report to. Candidates must live in the GTA and will commute all over the GTA to complete work. A company truck will be available for work purposes.

Position Overview:
The main objective of the Branch Manager - Toronto is to oversee and direct the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of Traffic Control and Equipment rental operations. They ensure exceptional service delivery, foster team growth, and maintain budgetary and performance targets in alignment with company objectives. They directly contribute to the success of the organization by implementing and overseeing the companys vision and values in the remote branch of Toronto.
What you will be responsible for:
Operations Management:

  • Manage the day to day operations of the Toronto branch including scheduling, creating work orders and dispatching crews
  • Coordinate Traffic Control Signing requirements (manufacturing) with Beacon Lite Head office and ensure its delivery to customers in a timely manner
  • Increase the overall productivity of the branch by budgeting effectively, eliminating inefficiencies and capturing growth opportunities
  • Overseeing invoicing accuracy to ensure clients are charged correctly
  • Provides Executive Management with operational data in order to better understand the performance growth and operational needs and recommends action plans for improvement to Executive Management
  • Help build the client base with the assistance of the Account Manager by identifying opportunities within the market
  • Works alongside employees on job sites if needed
  • Make decisions on the correct course of action should issues arise

Client Relations:

  • Build relationships by answering client questions and provide insight on traffic control services and equipment
  • Provide excellent customer service experience via email, phone or in person
  • Review tenders and client inquiries and provide respective estimates with the support of our Office Manager

Leadership and Motivation:

  • Offers continuous support and coaching to employees as required
  • Serves as a trusted advisor for employees seeking assistance with problem-solving and guidance
  • Motivates employees to learn and expand their knowledge

Risk Management

  • Identifies, evaluates and manages strategic risks and opportunities
  • Ensures compliance with the companys and industry policies and procedures

What we need from you:

  • Minimum 3+ years of work experience in a professional environment ideally within an operations department in the Construction or Traffic Control Industry
  • Working knowledge of MTO regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of Book 7 of the Ontario Traffic Manual
  • Knowledge of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Canada; MUTCDC
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Provincial Standards for Roads and Public Works
  • Valid G class drivers license or equivalent and a clean drivers abstract
