Library Technician

Regular Full-time

Duties: Reporting to the Manager, Learning Commons, the Library Services Technician is responsible for the provision of all services and supports offered through the College Learning Commons, including research support, user information fluency development, and information access across all disciplines and formats. The technician serves the College community, including the regional campuses, and as appropriate the public, across all functional areas of the Learning Commons, in support of the College's strategic plans. The incumbent is collaborative, collegial, delivers superior services to all users, maintains high levels of work quality, and a respectful teamwork environment


Qualifications: Two (2) year Library Technician Diploma from an ALA accredited program or equivalent combination of education and relevant library, learning commons or related work experience. Experience providing reference and research assistance in a library or learning commons setting. Demonstrated experience in delivering exceptional customer service both independently and as part of a collaborative team. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and will demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills

Salary: Position #041 As per the CUPE Salary Schedule and Collective Agreement, Pay Level 5, $50,468.60 per year.
