- Cyber Security-Operations Development & Automation – 50%
- Develop and maintain automation/orchestration scripts, applications, and frameworks to streamline security operations and incident response.
- Foster a “security-first” mindset in company infrastructure and code, ensuring a proactive and robust protection of data and systems.
- Assist the acceleration cybersecurity roadmap projects using the NIST Framework approach to principles with focus on: asset management, Governance, Platform security
- Lead effective planning, coordination, and execution of security related development/integration tasks.
- Lead Data Governance Projects to deliver a holistic solution to our Data security
- Ensure adherence to the security best practices on software development security and access; Work closely with DevOps team across the software development cycle
- Service Desk Optimization:
- Design, develop, and implement scripts and automation tools to improve Service Desk operations.
- Enhance efficiency and streamline 1st level technical support through custom applications and innovative solutions.
- Solutions Development – 15%
- Write, modify, and integrate high quality C# and VB .NET code for Windows forms and Blazor Web applications, following AGILE methodologies.
- Implement a customer-centric approach by identifying and communicating technical problems, processes and solutions with stakeholders.
- Support and maintain existing code by implementing bug fixes, program and process improvements and new features to existing software.
- Create and update process documentation for a wide variety of software, systems, and applications.
- Meet frequently with the Development team to observe progress, offer support and stay on top of critical work and deadlines
- Perimeter Network & Systems Administrator – 15%
- Provide 2nd level technical support to the service desk team in resolving various IT Service issues.
- Conduct thorough assessments of the organization's environments to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies for mitigating cyber risks.
- Assist the systems teams with Office 365 and Azure environments, aiding in strategic planning, architecture design, security, and governance.
- Create and update deployment packages and application deployment for various software using Intune and Group Policy.
- Vulnerability Management – 20%
- Perform security preventive maintenance and upgrade patches for servers, vendor software, and employee endpoints.
- Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees about the importance of cyber security practices.
- Provide guidance on cybersecurity best practices, incident response, and threat mitigation strategies,
- Help with bringing innovative solutions to the Team as the security-evangelist to protect infrastructure.
- Perform other duties as required
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Development/Engineering or related field.
- 4+ years of related experience in Information Technology, with a focus on software development, system administration and automation scripting (powershell, Python etc).
- Proven experience with security tools and technologies (e.g, SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection)
- Skilled in performing threat and risk assessments, vulnerability assessments and remediation practices.
- Solid understanding of Information Security and administering virtual infrastructure technology.
- Previous experience with code repository and lifecycle management in Azure DevOps / TFS and / or Git an asset.
- Certifications in Comptia A+, Network+, Security+, MSCE, Office 365, and Azure cloud technologies are considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshooting LAN/WAN/VPN connectivity issues, and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong attention to detail, desire for continuous learning, and experience with network diagnostic tools and Microsoft technologies.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
