About the Opportunity:

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking an experienced and certified Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives within our aerospace CNC machining environment. This role will oversee high-impact projects—such as the Employee Suggestion Program, integration and certification of new capital equipment, and New Product Introduction. This will require coordination across multiple departments including Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Compliance. The ideal candidate brings deep aerospace industry knowledge, strong leadership, and disciplined project management to drive initiatives that align with customer, regulatory, and business objectives.

This posting is for an existing vacancy within Pursuit Aerospace.

Location: Orillia, Ontario

This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of technical and operational projects across departments
  • Own and facilitate the Employee Suggestion Program, ensuring project visibility, accountability, and follow-through
  • Plan and manage equipment certification projects, including NDT/X-ray machine compliance (e.g., NADCAP, AS9100)
  • Develop project plans with scope, timeline, risk analysis, and resource allocations
  • Act as liaison between engineering, quality, manufacturing, and leadership to ensure project goals are aligned and met
  • Drive project reviews and reporting to leadership; escalate risks and delays with mitigation strategies
  • Track and manage key project metrics (budget, schedule, compliance, performance)
  • Ensure projects meet all customer and regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead structured improvement initiatives
  • Document best practices and post-project learnings to apply in future projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field
  • Active PMP certification (Project Management Professional)
  • 7+ years of experience managing projects in aerospace or precision manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP, and other aerospace compliance and quality systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams and complex technical projects
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and risk management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong experience with Kaizen and hands-on continuous improvement practices; familiarity with Moonshine-style innovation. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus but not required
  • Experience leading capital equipment certification projects
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and aerospace OEM compliance
  • Direct experience working with aerospace primes (e.g., GE, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead readiness planning and cross-departmental coordination
  • ERP/MES system experience
  • Success working in rapidly changing manufacturing environments with complex technical requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to push/pull objects over short distances (up to 15 feet)
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
  • Must be able to travel between company locations and to suppliers or customers as required
  • May be exposed to production-related noise, moving mechanical parts, and industrial equipment
