Our work focuses on five practice areas: Business Strategy, Operations Management, Digital Transformation, Policy & Economics, and Data Analytics & AI. We serve clients in industries such as Food, Beverages & Retail, Industry Associations, Construction & Real Estate, Public Sector, Transportation & Logistics, and Healthcare.

We believe in incorporating collaboration, intellectual curiosity, creativity & confidence in our work. We are a high-performing team who works hard and delivers high-quality work for our clients; we also have fun and enjoy spending time together. Cascadia retains a startup culture and strives to hire people who are eager to contribute and grow the firm and its culture.

Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and organized Finance & Admin Lead to support the operations of our consulting firm. This role is a critical internal partner to our leadership team, with visibility across finance, people, and office operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, brings strong financial acumen, thrives on variety, and enjoys keeping a high-performing team running smoothly.

The Finance & Admin Lead will drive key areas including bookkeeping, people admin, office management, and financial analysis and reporting.

Requirements

Given the broad nature of overseeing the finance and administrative functions of the firm, the role requires a range of skills. The Finance & Admin Lead will perform the following activities:

Financial Reporting & Bookkeeping

Generate and distribute monthly financial reporting, which includes:

  • Company-wide revenue reports
  • Project-based financial reports, including invoicing and WIP reports
  • Assist project managers in preparing monthly invoices

Responsible for bookkeeping activities including:

  • Tax and other government filings
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable

People Administration

  • Support the administration of payroll, benefits, and HR policies
  • Manage the recruiting pipeline and assist in employee onboarding processes
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, first-round screening, and interview scheduling
  • Support the assignment of staff to internal initiatives based on availability and priority
  • Support the weekly review of resource allocation and planning accuracy

Office Administration

Technology support including:

  • Procuring technology, including laptops and software licenses
  • Ensuring project records management are maintained and project codes are created and closed

Office management including:

  • Ensuring the office environments in Vancouver and Victoria reflects our values — well-stocked, welcoming, and professional.

The Finance & Admin Lead will be proficient with the following skills:

  • Experience in bookkeeping functions, including invoicing, vendor payments, tax filings.
  • Competence in supporting payroll, benefits administration, and recruitment processes.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Nice to haves: Experience with financial and revenue analysis.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in office management, bookkeeping, operations, or related fields, ideally in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Experience with accounting software and HR/payroll systems is an asset.
  • Strong expertise with the Microsoft Office 365 suite of products, including advanced Excel skills is an asset.

Professional Growth

We see this role as foundational to the health and effectiveness of our consulting practice. Over time, you'll gain increasing exposure to the financial strategy side of the business, help evolve our administrative functions, and play a key role in shaping internal processes. We offer support for relevant professional development (e.g. bookkeeping certification, Excel/BI tools, HR administration), and actively encourage learning and growth within the role.

This role is ideal for someone seeking a dynamic position that blends financial analysis with day-to-day office administration ownership — and who is looking to build depth in the professional services environment over the next 2-3+ years.

This position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Please combine all relevant documents (Resume, Cover Letter, etc.) into one PDF before uploading.

We look forward to reviewing your application!
