Key Responsibilities:Parts Management:
- Manage parts inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking parts.
- Maintain accurate records of parts inventory and usage.
- Identify and source parts from suppliers, negotiating best prices and delivery times.
- Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels of high use parts to ensure timely availability of parts.
- Coordinate the return of defective or unused parts to suppliers.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and invoices for parts.
Team Support:
- Assist mechanics with parts inquiries and orders within the company.
- Keep service staff informed about the status of parts orders and deliveries.
- Provide support to ensure smooth operations within the service department.
Workshop Support:
- Assist the mechanics with repairs, maintenance, and inspections oft of vehicles and equipment.
- Provide hands-on support during peak times or complex repair tasks.
- Help maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of parts transactions and inventory. Ensuring parts used on each job gets invoiced,
- Prepare regular reports on parts usage, inventory levels, and procurement activities.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with company policies and procedures.
Vendor and Supplier Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with parts suppliers and vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to improve service and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new products to ensure the best parts are sourced.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies in the workshop and parts storage areas.
- Participate in safety training and meetings.
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials and compliance with environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in parts management, automotive, or related field.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and experience assisting mechanics preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a workshop environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to use hand tools and equipment.
