- Work closely with the Executive Chef in all aspects of culinary procedures including food preparation, recipe creation, tracking and maintaining inventory, and team management
- Exercise their knowledge of cooking, food handling and culinary standards
- Oversee and assign tasks to Kitchen crew
- Ensure food quality by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage and sanitation
- Exercise good judgment and demonstrate strong leadership abilities
- Ensure orders are prepared in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with Carmens Group standards, focusing on minimizing waste and overall presentation
- Assure the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment
- Perform opening and closing duties as needed
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed
- Make a difference in the lives of each and every one of our guests by directly contributing to their extraordinary experiences
- Drive positive change in the organization
- Other duties as assigned
- Extensive knowledge of cooking, baking, food handling, and sanitation standards
- Extensive knowledge of sauces, soups, frying, roasting, poaching, dessert making, etc.
- Well-developed knife skills and different food preparation technique
- Ability to assign tasks and supervise Kitchen Staff
- Strong ability to follow, adjust, and create recipes
- Required to work well with senior cooks/Executive Chef
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Safe Food Handlers Certificate a requirement
- Culinary trade papers or Red Seal considered an asset
- Driver's license an asset for off-site catering
