What Youll Do:
Operations Excellence
- Owns the overall success of retail
- Sets the vision and standards
- Responsible for maintaining and strategically building on the foundation of the culture, processes, policies, and procedures
Reporting
- Request and share out data to all levels in the company
- Report month end results to leadership team
Forecasting
- Owns the forecast
- Collaborates directly with Finance and Demand Planning and Inventory Manager
- Prepare budgets and annual targets; continuously monitor progress against goals, holding the team accountable and adjusting accordingly to deliver against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Store Improvements (QA/Facility/H&S)
- Project Management and establishing priorities of entire process
- Work collaboratively and hold cross-functional teams accountable
New Store Openings
- Project Management of entire process from sourcing new locations to full execution of open
- Responsible for overall success
People & Culture
- Be a Kawartha Dairy Values Ambassador, leader, and mentor to drive employee engagement and teamwork
- Provide ongoing coaching, development, and bi-annual performance evaluations for Retail District Managers and Retail Operations Excellence Manager and oversee Retail succession planning
- Support Retail District Managers in addressing complex employee issues or safety concerns
Health & Safety
- Aligning with Health & Safety and Quality Assurance on the health & safety and food quality & safety store standards, tools and tracking
Training and Development
- Leverage best-in-class operational practices to drive efficient and consistent operations
Finance
- Work collaboratively with Finance to create all financial accountabilities and tools for stores
- Own the delivery against financial metrics
Procurement
- Collaborate with procurement on sourcing and process optimization
- Explore centralization of resale sourcing, warehousing and distribution
- Collaborate with marketing to explore NEW resale items
What You Need to Get the Job Done:
- Post-Secondary degree
- 10+ years experience in fast-paced retail leadership roles, including multi-store leadership with a focus on management, customer service, and operations
- An excellent coach and mentor with proven ability to inspire teams and who cherishes the experience of managing and working with some amazing people
- Natural leader with strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communicator
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies
- High competency level in use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum)
- The ability to adapt and lead others in a growing, constantly changing, high paced, but super fun environment
- A passion for what we do and aligned with our core values
- A self-starter who can work independently
- Someone who can act as a Change Management Champion
- Ability to travel and work additional or varied hours as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
