THE ROLE

As a Warehouse Forklift Trainer Specialist at a third-party logistics facility, you'll play a key role in supporting the operations of a well-established, leading logistics company inBrantford, ON. This is great temp-to-perm opportunity for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, mid-size warehouse environment.

The Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and ongoing maintenance of site training requirements, while promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with client policies, procedures, and all relevant regulatory standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver safety and quality training to new associates upon onboarding.
  • Conduct ongoing refresher training for current associates to ensure adherence to site safety and quality standards.
  • Provide cross-training in other operational areas as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all site training activities.
  • Support the creation and continuous improvement of training materials and packages.
  • Adhere to all site safety protocols and comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as applicable legislation.
  • Identify and recommend initiatives to enhance health and safety performance, including wellness and ergonomic programs aimed at reducing incidents.
  • Oversee the implementation and monitoring of safety-related processes such as Incident Reporting, Hazard Analysis, Safe Work Procedures, and Safety Inspections.
  • Drive internal communication strategies to promote awareness of health and safety practices, including the sharing of reports, KPIs, and performance updates.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of operational workflows and their implications for health and safety.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities during the absence of core duties.
  • Notify management of any health and safety risks, concerns, or incidents in a timely and proactive manner.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be available to work on different shifts and travel to various client locations to conduct required training
  • Working knowledge of and the ability to interpret Material Handling Equipment legislation, Health & Safety standards and other applicable legislation
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Great attention to detail and high accuracy with data entry
  • Strong instructional, presentation and facilitation skills
  • A positive and proactive attitude for solving problems and meeting challenges
  • Fully capable of working in varying temperatures. Temperatures may range anywhere from 2 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius in most client Warehouses. Clients Cold Storage buildings may range from 0 degrees Celsius to -30 degrees Celsius.
  • A minimum 5 years MHE experience is required (Counterbalance, Reach and Swing Reach).
  • Certified MHE trainer (Train the Trainer) or willing to complete.
  • Driver's license
