Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Millwork Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for millwork projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are considered. This role requires a strong understanding of millwork processes and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. The Millwork Estimator will play a crucial role in project management, helping to build and negotiate contracts while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Additional tasks may include site measurement and project coordination. Wage is negotiable upon skills, assets and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for millwork projects, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.

  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

  • Utilize software tools such as Buildertrend and Excel for efficient estimating processes.

  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate project scopes.

  • Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve the best value for the company.

  • Monitor project budgets and provide updates on cost variances throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather additional information for estimates.

  • Maintain organized records of all estimates, proposals, and contracts for future reference.

Skills

  • Clear Communication Skills

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to estimate multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must be proficient in Excel with minimum 5 years professional experience.

  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors.

  • Attention to detail with strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy in estimates.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients effectively.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Asset:

- Previous experience as a cabinet maker
