We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and preparing architectural drawings for residential rental projects, including multiplexes and mid-rise buildings, as well as commercial projects. The candidate should be well-versed in working with municipalities, navigating approval processes, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Construction experience is preferred to support effective collaboration with project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, for residential rental projects (multiplexes and mid-rise buildings) and commercial developments.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop design concepts and ensure technical accuracy.
Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications, ensuring compliance with municipal codes, zoning regulations, and building standards.
Coordinate with municipalities and regulatory bodies to facilitate the approval process for development projects.
Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility and ensure designs align with site conditions and client requirements.
Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs (Requests for Information) and reviewing shop drawings.
Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to produce high-quality drawings and 3D models.
Maintain project documentation and ensure all drawings and specifications are up-to-date and accurate.
Support project teams in resolving design and construction-related challenges.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum of [3-5 years] of experience as an Architectural Technician, with a focus on residential rental projects (multiplexes and mid-rise buildings) and commercial developments.
Proven experience working with municipalities and navigating permitting and approval processes.
Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction standards.
Construction experience or on-site exposure is highly preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality architectural drawings.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
