Compensation: $114, 194 to $135, 423 annually plus a comprehensive compensation package that includes time-off entitlements, health benefits, life insurance, and participation in the HOOPP pension plan.

We are Somerset West Community Health Centre (SWCHC), a non-profit, community-governed organization that serves over 18,000 clients annually. Established in 1978, SWCHC provides a wide range of health care services such as primary health care, health promotion, community development, mental health, and harm reduction. What Youll Do

The Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for safeguarding the financial health and operational integrity of the organization. This role provides strategic leadership and oversight of all corporate service functions, including finance (budgeting, controls, systems, procurement, and funding agreements), facilities management (plant, property, equipment, and cleaning services), corporate administration, reception, and information technology.

The Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer leads the development and execution of financial and operational strategies that ensure sustainability, legal compliance, and alignment with organizational priorities. They serve as a principal advisor to the CEO and Board on financial planning, risk management, and resource allocation, while also fostering strong working relationships with funders, partners, and internal stakeholders.

This is a critical executive leadership role that blends strategic thinking with operational execution. The Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer ensures the effective integration of corporate services into the organizations broader mandate and contributes to organization-wide initiatives that enhance impact, efficiency, and service excellence.

What Were Looking For

Your Education Path

  • Masters level degree in business, public or health administration; or other relevant graduate degree. A relevant undergraduate degree with additional years of direct experience may be considered.
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.

Life and Work Experience

  • Senior financial experience with significant levels of management and budgetary responsibilities.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience in finance and corporate services of complex non-profit organizations.
  • Experience in health care and non profit sector is preferred.

Language Requirement

  • English, spoken and written required

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Proven ability to develop and lead multi-year financial strategies, organizational budgeting processes, and sustainability planning aligned with strategic goals.
  • Executive Advisory Capacity: Demonstrated experience advising senior leadership and Boards on financial performance, risk, and resource allocation.
  • Financial Management Expertise: Deep understanding of nonprofit financial operations, including GAAP compliance, fund accounting, audit preparation, and funding agreement management.
  • Corporate Services Oversight: Strong skills in managing integrated corporate services functions, including IT systems, facilities, procurement, and administrative operations.
  • Policy and Compliance Knowledge: Ability to develop, implement, and monitor corporate policies, ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
  • Operational Systems Thinking: Capacity to lead cross-functional improvements that enhance internal systems, efficiency, and service delivery.
  • Team Leadership and Talent Development: Skilled in building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and equity.
  • Engagement and Communication: Effective communicator and relationship-builder with funders, auditors, vendors, and internal interest holders.
  • Equity-Informed Leadership: Commitment to embedding principles of equity, anti-racism, and inclusion within financial and operational decision-making.
  • Change Management and Adaptability: Experience navigating complexity and leading organizational change in dynamic, high-growth environments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work under pressure, ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects and demands, and ability to be flexible to achieve organizational goals. Competency in applying quality improvement tools is an asset.
