YW Calgary is currently seeking certified Yoga instructors to offer a variety of classes to YW Fitness members and community members. If you have certification as a Yoga instructor and are interested in offering your expertise to help support YW Calgary, we want to hear from you! The revenue generated through instructional classes has a direct impact on the critical programs and services offered by YW Calgary.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- As an instructor for Yoga, you will be a representative of YW Fitness and YW Calgary. You will greet class participants, instruct and support them through yoga class programming, and help to create a positive experience.
- Greet class participants and take attendance as they enter the room
- Instruct and assist participants through Yoga programming
- Time commitment: one 1.5 – 2-hour shift per week, at a consistent day and time dependent on your availability – morning (7:30-9:00), afternoon (4:30-6:00), evening (6:30-8:00), and weekend timeslots are available.
- Qualifications:
- Must have current Yoga Instructor Certification - Registered Yoga Alliance (200 hours minimum)
- Must have current standard first aid certification

- Inform team members and leaders to stop any unsafe work practices immediately to create awareness and injury/illness prevention.
- Report any hazards or incidents immediately to your leader in accordance with YW Calgary's incident reporting requirements to help ensure pro-active risk mitigation and management in compliance with legislative requirements (Occupational Health & Safety, Workers' Compensation Board, etc.)
- Use all safety materials, equipment, devices and tools required to safely perform work in alignment with YW's role and task requirements.
- Share individual accountability to create and maintain an inclusive environment the fosters a physical and psychologically safe workplace. Actively participate in the implementation of the National Standard for Psychological Health & Safety and integrate into all work practices and interactions with team members.
