Location: YMCA Clareview Child Care (3802 139 Ave, Edmonton)
Hours of Operations: 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, closed on Statutory Holidays
This is a Full-Time Contract position for the period July 2, 2025 - August 31, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Consistently represent YMCA's values and mission, comply with all YMCA Policies, procedures and Provincial Licensing regulations
- Work and communicate with a team to implement Child Care curriculum which may include Playing to Learn, FLIGHT and A Place to Connect.
- Guide and redirect children in situations when conflicts arise using a variety of positive child guidance techniques
- Ensure children are accounted for at all times
- Treat all families respectfully, bearing in mind their values, culture and background
- Build relationships with families and communicate, verbally and in writing on a daily basis
- Commitment to Health and Safety and Child Protection Policies and Procedures
- Attend all required professional development and training opportunities
- Consistently provide a safe and clean environment following all cleaning procedures
- Complete required administrative tasks
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children
- Level 1, 2 or 3 Child Care Certification (or in progress)
- Standard or Child Care First Aid & CPR – C
- Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
