This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - Development Department

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Donor Services & Database Coordinator plays a key role on our fundraising team, ensuring accurate data management, effective donor stewardship, and smooth campaign execution. This position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in Raiser's Edge, and excellent coordination with both internal teams and external partners.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Process daily donations and generate acknowledgment letters for Gifts-in-Kind (GIK)
  • Handle donor inquiries, including tax receipt reprints and general support
  • Issue annual consolidated tax receipts to donors
  • Provide backup coverage to the second coordinator, supporting all related duties
  • Generate targeted mailing lists for appeals, newsletters, and events
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of Raiser's Edge, including regular duplicate checks, coding, and data mapping
  • Manage Raiser's Edge database administration including onboarding new users, updating access, and providing system training
  • Coordinate direct mail campaigns with mail house vendors, ensuring accurate data exports, coding, and back-feed uploads
  • Collaborate with our fundraising and marketing partner, Blakely, to support campaign data planning and execution
  • Prepare finance-related reports for the Chief Development Officer (CDO)
  • Reconcile and submit monthly donation reports to the Finance department
  • Other duties as it relates to the functionality of this role.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Minimum three (3) years progressive fundraising experience with a proven track record of successful relationship and revenue development.
  • College/University degree in Fundraising Management or related discipline is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency guidelines regarding gift administration and issuing of charitable tax receipts.
  • Ability to utilize and maintain a donor database ensuring accurate and complete information on donors and gifts.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, consensus-building, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of technical literacy with Microsoft Office Suite and Raiser's Edge.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex data sets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with vendors and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines efficiently
  • Observe all Good Shepherd health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd Centres
