The Lead Mitigation Technician must be able to deal with the following types of jobs.
Water damage caused by a variety of sources, clean water breaks, sump pump failures, sewer backups
Fire and smoke damage
Mould and asbestos
Biohazardous sites
Pack out and move out
Cleaning of heavily soiled, dirty units, could be infested
Final post-construction cleaning of entire units, dusting, moping, wiping ceiling fixtures, etc.
Working Conditions
Must be available full-time Monday to Friday 7:30 to 4:30
On-call rotation every 4 weeks in which you must remain available after hours for 7 days
Must be able to work wearing full PPE including full face respirator, coverall suit, gloves and work boots
Must be physically able to work manual labour for full day, repetitive work at times, hot or cold conditions
Job duties
- Follow instructions from Supervisor
- Properly manage work site to make sure the work is done according to instruction
- Manage tasks and assign work to be done by each crew member on your team
- Coach and mentor when necessary
- Communicate any issues arising on site with the Supervisor
- Follow safe work procedures and always wear the proper safety equipment.
- Follow all company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and professional conduct.
- Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at the end of day
- Assist in maintaining tools, equipment, shop and fleet, assist with operational maintenance when required.
- 3 years direct mitigation technician experience with references
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Perform hard physical labour
- Move furniture, walk, and stand for long periods of time
- Positive team player
- Must be proficient at using software applications
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop (shop is on a bus route)
- Ability to work in a hot or cold and humid environment
- Work while wearing respirators and N95 masks when necessary
- The technician will require the use of a personal cell phone and an email address
- Must have own power tools-cordless drill kit, reciprocating saw (These can be purchased through the company if necessary)
- A valid drivers licence is an asset
- The technician will need to complete some online training modules
- Must have CSA safety work boots and basic tools: hammer, OLFA knife, prybar, screwdriver, work gloves
- Clean Criminal Record, Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, SIN number
