Job Title: Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager will play a pivotal role on the Eskay Creek Project, with accountability for advancing specific projects with the Construction & Engineering group. Reporting to the Director, Engineering, this Engineering Manager will drive the scoping, engineering, design, and handover to construction of significant project components in both the Process Plant and Infrastructure areas.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):Consultant Management
  • Selects, directs, and manages consultants, ensuring project requirements and best value objectives are met.

  • Accountability for consultant scope, quality, cost, and schedule.

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure designs are safe, fit for purpose, constructible, and cost-efficient.

  • Has a strong multi-disciplinary working knowledge, recognizing when to bring in internal stakeholders or additional external resources.

Procurement & Contract Support
  • Supports the Skeena Supply Chain team in the bidding, evaluation, selection, award, and administration of consultants and contractors.

Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Environmental Coordination
  • Works closely with environmental teams to ensure that designs meet environmental regulations and best practices, minimizing the project's impact on the surrounding ecosystem.

The Ideal CandidateEducation / Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Preference for Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registration (or eligibility) in the province of British Columbia.
Experience / Skills
  • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in the mining industry, and preferably in new build mine construction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with sound planning skills.
Work Location & ConditionsThis role will be based in the Vancouver Corporate office, but will require occasional trips (quarterly) to the Eskay Creek site. As the project advanced into construction, site visits will increase in frequency/duration, up to approximately 25-35% at site).
This job requires the incumbent to be able to work away from home and to be able to travel to different work locations or events outside of regular office hours as well as traveling to Skeena's remote project sites and collaborate with internal and external parties.All Applicants MUST be legally entitled to work in Canada. Priority hiring consideration will be given to Indigenous Nations members who reside within the territories our projects are located.CompensationThe expected salary range for this position is CA$150,000 - CA$200,000, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia.
