Construction Estimator:

We are looking for a detail-oriented construction estimator to advise on the foreseeable cost of each of our major developments. To this end, the construction estimator should obtain all relevant project specifications, determine the most appropriate building materials, and secure favorable prices on all resources. You should also inspect trends in construction to determine whether your estimates are both reasonable and competitive, analyze costs and prepares estimates for various construction projects. Must specialize in specific trades or areas, such as civil engineering, architectural, or electrical. The role involves quantifying materials, labor, and equipment, and creating bids or proposals for projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Analysis: Analyzing the cost of materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related expenses.

  • Bid Preparation: Developing and submitting bids or proposals for construction projects and obtaining quotes.

  • Project Management: Collaborating with management and other stakeholders to ensure accurate cost estimates.

  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of cost data, estimates, and bid submissions.

  • Problem-Solving: Addressing cost overruns or other challenges during the estimation process.

  • Negotiating with service providers to secure better prices.

  • Outlining the work plan to gauge how much time will be needed to complete each development.

  • Performing risk assessments to account for potential deviations from the project plan.

  • Accounting for the use of our resources, plus a reasonable profit margin to calculate an overarching price.

  • Drafting proposals that detail envisaged materials, costs, and time frames.

  • Must be able to do Physical on site construction take offs and measurements (MANDATORY REQUIREMENT)

  • Must be able to do take offs for all materials and work off all types of construction activities.

  • Signing off on invoices related to all work activity on each project site.

Educational Requirements and Skills:

  • Formal Education:

    A college diploma, apprenticeship training, or experience in a supervisory role is often required.

  • Skills:

    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.

  • Knowledge:

    A good understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards is necessary
