Full Job Description

STL Engineering is looking to fill the position of Hardware/Mechatronics Engineer. As a Hardware/Mechatronics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical and electronic systems for a variety of cutting-edge projects. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to create innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design and Development: Create detailed designs for mechanical and electronic systems, including schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and mechanical drawings.
Prototyping: Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and functionality.
System Integration: Integrate hardware and software components to ensure seamless operation of mechatronic systems.
Testing and Debugging: Conduct rigorous testing and debugging of hardware and software to identify and resolve issues.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to deliver high-quality products on time.
Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation for designs, including specifications, user manuals, and maintenance guides.
Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends to continually improve design processes and product quality.

The ideal candidate should possess:
Education: Successfully completed Electrical Engineering program, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Exposure to PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Expedition), and embedded systems programming (e.g., C/C++, Python). Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) a plus.
Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical systems, electronics, control systems, and robotics.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of design and documentation.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
