Salary: $77,175.00 - $86,861.14

Reports To: Senior Manager, Marketing and Brand Management

Desired Results of the Position:

  • A student body connected to its Board of Directors and one that understands and values the role of its Students' Association.
  • Students have intimate knowledge of the entitlements, processes and services available to them via the Students' Association, the college or the community at large.

Nature and Scope:

The Manager, Marketing is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager in leading the strategic promotion and brand management of the Algonquin Students' Association (SA). This role directly manages and provides leadership to a dynamic marketing team, overseeing the development, execution, and evaluation of marketing strategies, programs, and campaigns that align with organizational goals and available resources. The Manager acts as a brand steward, ensuring the SAs identity is consistently represented and its reputation enhanced across all touchpoints. This individual collaborates closely with internal departments to align messaging, boost visibility, and maximize impact, while continuously evaluating performance to inform future direction and uphold the SAs strong and trusted presence within the student community.

Job Duties

  • Oversees the Marketing Team which consists of roles such as: Creative Director, Graphic Designer, Digital Marketing Specialist, Marketing Officers, Photographer & Videographer and Junior Graphic Designer.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the SA marketing strategy to achieve annual objectives.
  • Be a brand champion and leader for the organization, ensuring that all brand guidelines are understood, embraced, and consistently followed.
  • Ensure all products, services and other offerings follow the SA brand identity.
  • Conduct ongoing brand management and accountable for all marketing plans and initiatives.
  • Works with designers, writers and other creative staff to produce marketing collateral in accordance with brand messages.
  • Engages with employee groups and cross-functional teams as needed to help provide creative solutions to objectives.
  • Assists with Board initiatives when support is needed.
  • Ensure the website is a reliable source of accurate and timely information on the SA.
  • Supports the strategic and effective use of digital assets.
  • Follows the proper Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) standards for marketing materials.
  • Routinely coaches employees and as required, manages progressive discipline.
  • Remains involved with professional associations to advance the effectiveness of the SAs marketing
  • Responsible for remaining knowledgeable in the use of marketing trends and
  • Work flexible hours as needed during the week and weekend.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma in marketing, media design, advertising or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years of direct work experience in a marketing role
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a management position, including direct team leadership
  • Highly effective project management, prioritization and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Proven track record in creating and executing successful marketing campaigns
  • Exceptional understanding and familiarity with brand building and brand management
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Energetic, self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Direct experience working with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, social media applications and project management programs
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital marketing techniques, technologies and solutions
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing various types of data to inform and guide future decision-making
  • Understanding and dealing with marketing suppliers
  • Proven ability to assign and delegate work, problem solve and evaluate results
  • The ability to grow and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all levels of employees
  • Work well with others and take direction and constructive feedback in a positive manner

Compensation

  • $77,175.00 - $86,861.14 per year
