The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Sales Planning Manager, the Sales Planning Analyst (18 Month Term) supports weekly flyer planning and execution. This role designs and reports on flyer content, communicates requirements to cross-functional teams, and analyzes data to provide insights that enhance decision-making. Success in this role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
The Sales Planning Analyst, duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Partner with Sales Planning and Supply Chain on a weekly basis to support sales forecast validation to drive alignment with the “Promotional Forecast of Record".
- As part of the M&M Flyer Team, the analyst will ensure the consistent, validated, and timely communication of flyer changes (items, retails) from the merchandising team/meeting to the flyer design and proofing teams to support flawless execution within the M&M flyer process.
- Partner on weekly subsidy tracking and reporting, as well as vendor initiatives, with Finance at the close of each flyer period, month, event, etc.
- A key client contact, partner with Clear Demand and internal M&M IT on system stability, system errors, data quality, and platform performance of the Clear Demand Forecasting Portal (UEX).
- Support our Operations and Store teams by managing questions and concerns with flyer estimate reporting, promoted item details, promoted retails and other promotional concerns within ERPLY.
- Flyer, Promotional and Ad-Hoc Analysis: Working with cross-functional teams, provide financial analysis support as required including promotional breakeven analysis, project ROIs, and post-promotional impact analysis including lessons learned and identifying opportunities to improve results.
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary degree in Business/Commerce.
- 2-4 years of relevant analytics experience working with big data sets and an understanding of what is relevant for the required analysis.
- Strong Microsoft Excel user (i.e. advanced pivot tables, formulas, macros and VBA) with the ability to build sustainable financial models that are extremely efficient.
- Experience with Tableau, Vena, and/or Erply an asset.
- High attention to detail, well organized and committed to meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization.
- Good analytic skills and demonstrated ability to translate insights into actionable business recommendations that deliver positive results.
- A self-motivated and enthusiastic “go-getter” with an ability and desire to work in cross-functional teams.
