About the Opportunity:

Our client, an industry leader in designing modern infrastructure for commercial, institutional, and municipal facilities, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects involving new developments and the renewal or replacement of critical electrical systems.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for building projects, including schematic layouts and wiring diagrams.

  • Produce and review detailed technical drawings using CAD tools.

  • Collaborate with internal teams across architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines.

  • Ensure designs meet applicable electrical codes, standards, and client expectations.

  • Prepare comprehensive documentation: technical specs, lighting and power layouts, and system schematics.

  • Participate in design reviews, contract administration, site inspections, and commissioning processes.

  • Provide technical guidance and input during project planning and execution phases.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (PEO).

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design engineering.

  • Proficiency in CAD software, MS Office, and relevant simulation tools.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and industry best practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • High attention to detail and a proactive mindset.

Preferred Experience:

  • Lighting retrofits, lighting controls, and lighting distribution design.

  • Power system upgrades and distribution equipment layout.

  • Design and integration of fire alarm, PA systems, emergency power, data, and communications systems.

  • Familiarity with contract administration processes and protocols.
