Salary: Hourly Based on Experience

We are looking for an Electrical Design Specialist to join RidgeTech's growing team!

Job Summary

  • Primarily responsible for executing control systems design of projects.
  • Develop electrical schematics including specifying hardware and components.
  • Develop hydraulic and pneumatic system design packages (EPLAN, AutoCAD).
  • Develop and verify safety systems; understanding safety risk assessments and the PSHR/PSR process
  • Executing project management responsibilities as required, including managing project workflows through the entire design system process.
  • Manage client relationships to uphold project quality and client retention under the direction of Team Lead(s).
  • Participate in stand-ups, work planning, and technical reviews.
  • Utilize Jira for progress updates, collaboration, mentorship, and ticket management.
  • Collaborate and share knowledge with other team members
  • Ensure accurate and complete project documentation.
  • Stay current with applicable standards, codes, and rules.
  • Promote efficiencies and continuous improvement.
  • Engage in initiatives to learn RidgeTech's core business and contribute to team development.
  • Uphold safe work practices as per RidgeTech Automations Health & Safety Program and Handbook.
  • Perform other relevant tasks as assigned.

Qualifications (Experience & Skills)

  • Post-Secondary Education in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or Robotics & Automation
  • Valid Class G driver's license and access to reliable transportation to attend the Cambridge office or local sites.
  • Previous experience with 2D and 3D CAD development in AutoCAD (Electrical).
  • Exposure to other areas (systems/software) in the Controls and Automation industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical design fundamentals following ANSI and IEC guidelines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both clients and team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Highly motivated with an ability to manage tasks, work efficiently, and collaborate with others.
  • A proven track record of strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Programming and/or design knowledge of multiple software platforms, networks, and IO systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Omron, etc.) would be an asset.

Working Conditions

  • This is a full-time position. Additional hours based on client requirements, will be compensated according to company policy (i.e. overtime, double time, etc.).
  • Team Members must be able to work from the office in Cambridge, Ontario.
  • Travel opportunities may arise based on client needs. Locations and length of travel will vary depending on the projects and workloads at any given time.
