We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer or Technologist to join our growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of projects-including residential, commercial, office, institutional, and light industrial developments-while mentoring junior staff and ensuring technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the engineer-of-record for small to medium-sized projects in BC.
Design electrical systems independently, including lighting, lighting controls, power distribution, data layouts, and life safety systems.
Perform electrical calculations (e.g., power loads, lighting levels, power density, fault currents, and equipment sizing).
Produce detailed drawings suitable for building permits, tendering, and construction.
Manage project timelines and budgets; provide updates to Team Leads as needed.
Conduct field reviews, evaluate shop drawings, and issue site instructions and change orders.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and utility providers to ensure integrated project delivery.
Attend client meetings and maintain strong, professional relationships.
Mentor junior engineers (EITs) and technologists.
Stay current with industry trends and contribute to improving quality standards and internal processes.
Support business development efforts and the expansion of services across provinces.
Coordinate electrical inspections and prepare detailed technical reports.
Report to Electrical Team Leads in BC and Alberta.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
P.Eng. designation preferred (not mandatory).
Strong background in electrical design and client relationship management.
In-depth knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and relevant Building Codes.
Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal-are essential.
Experience with AutoCAD required; proficiency in Revit is a significant asset.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills are a plus.
Proficiency in lighting design software; Bluebeam Revu experience is an asset.
Project or construction management experience is an advantage.
Valid driver's license.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
