As a registered charity and not-for-profit agency, Vanier has been in operation for over 54 years and is funded by the Ontario government. Vanier Children's Mental Wellness mission is to improve the lives of infants, children, and their families through the provision of mental health services based on clinical excellence, collaboration, partnerships, and system leadership. Appointed by the Ontario Government as Lead Agency for Child/Youth Mental Health (CYMH) System Management in London-Middlesex (2014), Vanier is also accountable for community-wide Child/Youth Mental Health System Planning.
Position Summary:
As an Occupational Therapist, youll be at the heart of a dynamic team, using your expertise to unlock each childs full potential. Youll conduct engaging assessments, offer expert consultations, and develop creative, individualized treatment plans that help young clients thrive in everyday activities. From boosting fine motor skills to enhancing sensory integration, your work will empower children to achieve milestones that matterand celebrate every success along the way.
Education/Training/Experience:
- Master of Science, Occupational Therapy
- Active member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- A valid drivers license.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an Occupational Therapy role
- Experience with children, youth and families, an asset.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising and communicating with all stakeholders (individually, in teams, and agency-wide)
- Facilitate problemsolving within the team context regarding program development and individual treatment planning.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office (i.e., Outlook, Word, etc.).
- Experience working with case management software (i.e., EMHWare), is an asset.
- Experience working with eating disorders, preferred.
