Position Title: Human Resources Manager

Department: Operations

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Human Resources Manager role is responsible for the overall planning, executing and controlling strategies that improve and promote a respectful, fair, safe working environment for all Metalumen employees. With best practices, this professional oversees the people needs of the organization through direction, evaluation, creation and implementation of all HR projects, policies and procedures. Promoting a strong high-performance culture while maintaining compliance with ESA, OHS Act, and MOL. Working in a strategic level of the organization, this professional can easily coordinate resources, people, and processes while being an accountable effective leader.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates in strategic meetings and understands the organizational goals, helps to clarify departmental and people roles in the strategy
  • Creates, implements and evaluates HR projects according to the organizational mission, vision, core values
  • Training, coaching and advising executive and management team on leadership, management and conflict resolution
  • Creates, implements and trains managers in performance management and the tracking tools
  • Continuous open dialogue with managers to define and support departmental needs
  • Responsible to communicate and model by example, the organization's workplace expectations regarding behaviours and compliance with company policies and procedures and all legislated acts
  • Creates HR plan to include mandatory training schedule, career growth, succession planning, hiring and retention, and important key indicator tracking
  • Administrator for employee benefits
  • Creates and updates job descriptions according to departmental needs
  • Responsible to initiate and participate in the full cycle of recruitment, acting as knowledgeable advisor to managers regarding interviewing, selection and hiring
  • Updates all Health and Safety policies and procedures as required
  • Participates as active member of JHSC
  • Responsible to complete and submit Form 7 to WSIB as necessary
  • Responsible to manage on boarding and training in mandatory requirements of new employees
  • Responsible to process bi-weekly payroll, tracks vacation and leaves
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Certified Human Resources
  • 3-5 years experience managing in a manufacturing environment
  • Full knowledge and understanding of all regulatory requirement

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years work related experience in the people management tasks required, preferred in manufacturing environment
  • Experience ADP Workforce now considered an asset

Skills:

  • Strong soft skills enhancing leadership and coaching effectiveness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Organizational and strategic planning to align with company goals
