ROLE: Junior Interior Designer
Ste Marie Art + Design is hiring a Junior Interior Designer with a strong drive to learn, execute excellent design, and grow technical and communication skills. The ideal candidate is inquisitive, self-motivated, and understands the project lifecycle. Strong verbal and technical communication is key.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Associates and Project Leads in executing design presentations and specification schedules.
- Contribute to design development, 3D modeling, renderings, mood boards, specifications, CAD drawings, material sourcing, and presentation assembly.
- Lead specific design portions as assigned.
- Create accurate specifications and schedules.
- Coordinate and organize samples, sample boxes, and grunge boards.
- Assist in preparing construction drawing sets under supervision.
- Review multi-family suite drawing sets.
- Help with contract administration tasks (site instructions, submittals).
- Follow internal standards for drawing, documentation, and time tracking.
- Support FF&E selection and styling (sourcing, shopping, on-site styling).
- Manage tasks and time independently; maintain a 40-hour workweek.
- Communicate workload and support needs clearly.
- Represent the studio professionally with clients, vendors, and collaborators.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of professional experience in Interior Design, ideally in multi-residential or hospitality.
- Interior Design, Building Technology, or Architectural program graduate.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Workspace.
- Enscape, Fohlio, and Revit experience are assets.
- Strong understanding of kitchen and bath design and millwork detailing.
- Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and specifications.
- Drivers license is an asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail, fast learner, and thrives in fast-paced settings.
- Strong team collaboration and ability to take direction.
- Design passion supported by a strong creative and technical portfolio.
- Open, flexible mindset with a commitment to learning and growth.
