About the job
We are currently seeking a motivated Buyer to join our team.
Core responsibilities include:
- Manage vendor contract administration including harmonization and standardization of all contract terms, vendors, products and services procured by the company.
- Maintain current vendor database
- Provide various purchasing, planning and control reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
- Assist on tendering process in accordance with best practices, including documents preparation, follow-up and analysis of bid documents.
- Assist on order processing including tendering, preparing budgets, creating purchase orders, expediting, overseeing installations, managing invoices and resolving deficiencies, all while ensuring on time delivery and on budget status.
- Assist on capital projects from inception to completion for the purpose of procuring goods and services by working with key stakeholders including Sunray Ownership, designers, project managers, suppliers, and general contractors with a focus on achieving effective pricing and products selection for the benefit of operations and fiscal responsibility.
- Monitor and control procurement costs to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through bulk purchasing, negotiation, or alternative sourcing
- Update project templates and reports to track project status and budget.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Certificate in related discipline, SCMP supply chain management, or equivalent designation is an asset.
- Minimum 2 year related experience in procurement or related discipline with capabilities in controlling and reducing external spending by developing a robust supplier base.
- Strong professional business communication skills and ability to establish and build relationships at the vendor level.
- Well developed and demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail, project & time management, prioritizing and follow-up.
- Ability to work independently, quickly and competently with frequent interruptions in a multi-task environment and ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
- Ability to deliver results and positively impact the company's financial directive.
- High level of competency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word etc.).
- Hotel procurement experience considered an asset.
