About the Role: Reporting to the CEO, the CoS will develop and implement strategic, operational, and performance targets while fostering a culture that attracts, develops, and retains top talent aligned with Salex's vision and values. The CoS will drive innovation, performance, and profitability across all departments. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CoS is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company and driving operational excellence across all departments. This hands-on, results-driven leader will play a pivotal role in executing strategic initiatives, scaling operations, managing risk, and ensuring exceptional client service. Key Responsibilities: Strategic & Operational Leadership: * Partner with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement strategic plans, operational targets, and performance metrics. * Translate business strategy into actionable operational plans across key departments, including Sales, Field operations, Customer service, and HR. * Drive innovation, efficiency, and profitability through continuous improvement of internal systems, processes, and standards. * Demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI), including its current and future applications, and leverage insights on how AI will shape the workforce to stay ahead of industry trends and drive innovation. * Apply advanced software and technical computer knowledge to modernize internal operations, enhance data-driven decision-making, and position the company for future growth and competitive advantage. Operations & Project Management: * Develop and manage KPIs and dashboards to monitor cost, performance, and resource utilization. Team Leadership & Culture: * Build and lead a high-performing management team and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and mutual respect. * Serve as a mentor and confidante within the leadership team and across the company. * Drive change management initiatives to support scalability, communication, and performance excellence. Client, Risk & Financial Management: * Oversee project risk, change orders, and dispute resolution, focusing on cost control and mitigation strategies. Resource & Talent Management: * Ensure operational departments are properly staffed and resourced to meet business objectives. * Collaborate with HR on recruitment, retention, and workforce development strategies. * Support internal communication systems to enhance cross-departmental collaboration. Qualifications: * Proven success as a CoS or senior operational leader in the Lighting Industry. * 10+ years of senior leadership experience. * Bachelor's degree required; MBA designation strongly preferred. * Experience with ERP systems and data-driven decision-making frameworks. * Skilled in managing both project- and corporate-level risks. * Adept at scaling operations in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments. * Strong negotiation, communication, and partnership-building abilities. * Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects. * Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. * Strong background in business operations, financial management, and organizational leadership. * Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. * Experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Success Metrics: Within 6 Months: * Earn trust and become a key advisor within the senior leadership team. * Demonstrate a strong understanding of company operations and culture. * Establish clear KPIs and drive performance improvements. * Build credibility with clients and staff. Within 12 Months: * Improve project profitability, scheduling, and delivery performance. * Implement and refine operational systems and tools for scalable growth.
